The pair are only 12 months old and this was their first try at nesting. Three eggs, all fertile. Unfortunately they didn't seem to know what to do when they hatched. Found them cold & almost dead early in the morning so they are now inside for handrearing. Hopefully they will do a better job next time.

That's a very niche bird selection. Hopefully the chicks pull through and the parents do a better job next time around.

Great to see them doing OK now. Hope mum and dad get the message next time round.

Alf,
I would be really interested if you could keep us updated on their progress and growth/changes in appearance as they grow older.
Good luck with those little balls of fluff!

Not a great quality photo, I took this a few days ago when they were 9 days old. Progressing well and will be going from the brooder into a large plastic box shortly.
