I am hoping that something is happening amongst all that grass in the cylinders. The Gouldians and Double Bars are certainly making enough fuss over the green seed to indicate they just might be doing more. But some fool person put the cylinders above their head level and can't actually see in to tell.
After sorting and rearranging the quail into different pairs and trios, they have just started laying again. So heres hoping for some more dilutes and very red cinnamons. Some of the Zebs are very active, e.g. those with black cheek stripes and black buts. And some don't seem to be doing much, e.g. the Reds.

My Black Rumped Double bars are starting to get into gear, but have produced more infertile clutches, so I added a fair few more in to my flock to make it up to 9 birds, and hopefully something will happen and actually get some out onto the perch this year.finchbreeder wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 21:35 I am hoping that something is happening amongst all that grass in the cylinders. My Goulds have just made a nest in a cane basket (which is not unusual as they also nest in brush cylinders as well)
FB, you are doing really well with the mutation quails, I think everyone would love to see some of your mutations
Cheers

The cubans might be building too, they've built the rough outline of a nest out of feathers and grass in the brush.

I suppose - I can claim some credit for helping mum with her 32 breeding boxs of budgies this season - slow start nothing hatched till July - and as always some pairs did not take - so the boxs were then re issued to other pairs - but some went up to 3 rounds - probably round 50 chicks this year - some of the first hatches will be on the show bench for their first show over the weekend - now she has to decide if she goes to the nationals in Bendigo this year - no I don;t join in that
