Hi, i was wondering what your thoughts were on the double Bars are they bossy or are they quite, was thinking of putting some in my avairy with the other finches which are quite

Haven't got any right now, but intend to get some again.
When I did have them I found them quiet and easy going in a mixed aviary. So go for it.

you should be right , just dont let there numbers get to big thats when they can be trouble but a couple of pairs should be fine.....pete

Double bars are great, I have always found them to be quiet unobtrusive birds.

have found them to be very placid. but also active, they are always first to the food dishes once I have refilled everything

Thanks for all the help, i have had black throats in there and found them to take of other nests and first to the live food before the others and they were missing out, so they wern't producing any young

Mine are great. Really busy but not aggressive at all.
I think they liven up my mixed collection.

mine are good.if you want to breed them get three pr.And hope you have three of each sex.they can be dificult to sex.and in these parts hard to get a good breeding pr.

I've found they take a long time to breed. Last pair took 12 months before they bred (that was five years ago) but bred well with 3 clutches of five. This pair I have now don't even look close to breeding and its been 6 months. Time will tell.
