Can you breed canaries in a colony set up ? Or are they best one pair per avairy.

I prefer a trio to an avairy myself. But my mother colony breeds with considerable success. It depends on how particular you are about what you are breeding.

Mum generally has 3 or 4 pairs. Depends on the size of the avairy. 2 pair will involve the cocks fighting, but once you have more they have to split their attention between rivals.
