Looking at the profiles of the red headed parrot finch and the blue headed parrot finch and noticed they are in different sections, blue head in the Australian and red in the non
Australian. The latin name only differs in the last part. Can someone explain the difference for me and when the non aussie comes from?

Excellent, my aviary is 6 mtrs long so they would have a fine old time in there as long as they can get on with gouldians emblemas ruddys and canaries

Ok, thanks for that. Thats the end of that idea until a new aviary is built. Is that the same deal with the red headed parrot finches and gouldians too?

there is the chance of hybrids but its very rare. it will only happen if there single birds of each sex. i know of a lot of people that have them together and had no hybrids.
