Spice Finch's - behaviour

Hey all...

I own two male Spice Finch's. Both are healthy, chirp so much (4am onwards), and haven't lost weight since i have had them (2 months).

Their cage is probably about 50cm x 50cm x 100cm.

My worry is every time I introduce a new object into their cage (including fresh green objects and even branches) they go off their nuts (excuse my French). Also I understand that a Finch should have more than just seed.. so I have tried to introduce fresh greens.. but once I do they again "freak out".

Any tips to get them to calm down about new stuff in their home ?

They are both great and seem to regonise me when I approach the cage..

Help .. any help would be great. and any tips about raising these two would be great as well..

Cheers
B

all wat you can do is keep on doing wat your doing and they should hopefully start to calm down.

All my munias over here (Spice, White-bellied, chestnut and Java Sparrows) are wild caught and have never settled down or bred since I purched them nearly two years ago. If anyone's go some ideas on this subject I'd like to hear as all these birds do is eat my seed (dry, green, soaked & sprouted) - I've never seen them touch the other things available (greens, fruit, grit, boiled egg & lorikeet dry-food)

have you tried putting green plants in there ? I find it very hard to feed my goulds greens but they love picking the crap outta my spider plants when they go in for the slaughter...

Well at the risk of just upping my feed bill I might try increasing the numbers first to see if I can get a willing pair to pur the other on. I'll try with the Javas first since they are suppose to be the easiest to breen and then the Spice finces. I've got one aviay empty at the moment so perhaps not having them disturbed by the other munias might make a difference too. I'm sure once I get a captive bred generation that things will be easier but domesticating them is not easy.
