A Big Country = Great contrast

I have just read that the cool wet summer on the East coast has lead to a bumper breeding season for Aviculturilists.
While here in WA we have had the hottest summer on record in most Cities and towns. Birds lost to sudden unexpected temperature increases of
10 degrees in 10hrs, followed by 10 days straight of of 40 and over temps. People finding wild birds dead in their yards.
Fortunately many of us have auto retic on our avairies, which helps, but not always enough. More people are now putting out and watching bird baths and water bowls for the wild birds and lizards. My home city/town has broken heat records several times this summer.
Life in Australia is a contrast.
