Yes it's sad, unfortunately nothing can be done about it other than be in the know of what you are purchasing others don't care as they just want a pretty bird. Hopefully it is infertile.

What's worse is he doesn't state that it's a hybrid.

If you accidentally breed a hybrid bird, and for whatever reason can't give it a reasonable home, at least be open to potential buyers about what they're buying and what their obligations are.
