Hi

Here are a few tips i use when buying Birds.

- Check to ensure they have a clean vent.
- Check to see if they have tight clean feathers.
- Observe from a distance to see if they appear well, fluffed up birds put on a good show when you are up close looking.
- Check to see if they are carrying good weight and aren't light (ask whoever you are buying from to check when they have caught them up)

What do you look for?

Cheers
Luke

first thing for me is to check that I have money in the wallet to pay for them.
general condition of the bird, how it is on the perch, how active it is.
then I ask the seller when were the birds last wormed & what with, it's amazing how many birds have never been wormed or the seller uses vinegar only

I also ask about the history of the bird.As well as what you mentioned.
How old are they.As i prefere young birds.
Are they related. So i know to split them up or the ofspring.
What live food have they been feed.As i may not have the livefood requirements (termites)
how were they housed.I dont want to buy somthing that wont last a day in my set up.And i may not be able to house them.

Some more I include are sate they were bred (some times we get some from interstate that can't handle the climate change) and that you are getting a pair are not related.
