chicken starter

anyone out there that feed there gouldians medicated chicken starter? would that be a good idea?
It's ok for adults feeding blues as they can benefit from the medication but I think the medication in crumbles is for coccidia and maybe a few vitamins and antibiotics. I know a blue gouldian breeder that swears by it.
Probably best to grind up adult pellets as they have antibiotics in it.
