Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I learned at the Finches '22 convention that forum moderator David Holmes (E Orix) is quite unwell at the moment. I'd just like to use this topic to thank him for the contributions he's made towards Aussie aviculture (with Weavers in particular) and wish him well for the future.
Thanks,
Aidan

I think we have all learnt something from David/E Orix, via the forum over the years. So, I join in wishing David a speedy recovery.

Yes it's sad, I believe all his birds have been disposed of.

Very sad if David has had to give up his birds.

A short note to forum members that my friend and mentor of 40 years, David Holmes passed away early this morning after a battle with cancer.
I was fortunate to do one last road trip with David to the Orange Bird Sale last March. Personally he will be greatly missed.
VALE DAVID HOLMES

RIP David Holmes
I never had the chance to meet you in person, but I learnt so much from your knowledge on this forum alone
Australian Aviculture owes a great debt to you for the work you've done, especially with Weavers, Whydahs and Widowbirds.
You will be missed mate.

Your knowledge passed on of our finches and weavers and softbills to younger generations has been invaluable, l take my hat off to you.

RIP David - I also never got to meet you in person - but we talked online a bit and your knowledge and willingness to share it blew me away.
Sympathy to the family.
