I have one growing prolifically in front of my house and the outdoor finches love the brown seed pods they produce this time of year and I've also seen them plucking them for nests (I think). I just ordered my birds (I got two pairs of Lady Gouldians). I'm wondering if I could put a few branches in the cage for them. I don't want to risk killing the birds! I know the branches will only last 3-4 days.

I thought it would be pretty (both the flowers and the bottle brushes) but I want to be sure they are safe! My birds will be here in a week or so! I am so excited and so are my kids! If it is safe for outdoor finches, do you think Gouldians will like them too?

sorry here is a picture

Sorry not a bush I have ever used in an avairy. I do use Bottlebrush and Mulberry Tree branches. Which make excellent perching, and give their feet a comfortable workout, which using same size perches all the time does not. Enjoy.
