Would they stop feeding their young?

I got home a bit early this arvo so I decided to have a look in the zeb finch aviary and inspect the nest with some young and do a general tidy up of the other nest boxes. They have grown quickly. After I had finished, I noticed that the parents were keeping away from the box and did not re-enter. They were actually eyeing out another nest box close to the one with the young. The young seemed well fed and I could see seed in their crops. Is it possible that I have put the parents off from re-entering the nest and could they possibly abandon their young by me doing a bit of a tidy up? I was in there probably all of 5 minutes and cleaned up other nest boxes that were full of grass but not the one with the babies. I'm a bit worried now...I would say the young are roughly 14 days old.

zebras & societies would have to be the most tolerant finches there are when it comes to nest inspections.

I would have to agree about zebs being very tolerant of interferance, so don't worry.
Not so sure about society's though. Had some abandon a nest after I got curious. But they have built another. No eggs in the 1st. 2nd one too high to see or reach. :o
