As the title says, on my hens just layed eggs and they are very small. The hen is 4 or 5 years old. Last year her eggs where better and nice size.
questions 1: when a hen lay small eggs is it, because is her first try of the season? or definitely is old and time for retirement?
Question 2: If a rookie hen lay small eggs, should I wait to see bigger eggs on the same clutch, or dump them and wait for the next one???
Questions 3: Is there a possibility to see 2 or three small eggs and then the rest with a normal size???

1. Sometimes these 2 things can apply - but they do not always.
2. Leave them. Sometimes they hatch and sometimes they don;t. Sometimes if a chick hatches from these eggs it will be smaller and take a bit longer to achieve full size, but sometimes it will be weak and die.
3. Occassionally.
Birds can be erratic so and so's.
