Hi All

I found this bird on the bottom of my aviary yesterday with a shocking eye I have been bathing it and put chlorsig on it. It is being kept indoors in a cage that has a heatpad and aircon also indirect sun when there is any.

Feathers look a bit wet it is where I have been bathing with salt water.

I presume its a vet visit if I can find a decent bird one in my area. Does anyone know what this is?

thanks J

The bathe and apply eye drops, dayly process is the best.
If no improvement after a week - off to the vet.

I suspect it is a penetrating eye injury that has gone septic.
Either way with that amount of swelling the prospect of the eye being saved, for that matter the bird being saved is pretty remote.

Tough decisions

Yes that is very nasty looking and could spread to the brain. I think it maybe best to cull him I'm afraid.
