rescued zebra finches from pet store

Hello everyone, I am presently fostering 5 zebra finches which were given to me by a friend who works at a pet shop and due to the dismal quarantine space there she managed to adopt over 10 zebra finches which all had some sort of an issue. I managed to give the first lot to a rescue place but still have 5 little finches here. One of them has the twirling disorder and I am now considering bringing him to a vet for euthanisia. Could anyone have any suggestion? I did research this twirling/stargazing issue but a lot of birds don't make it.

Yes twirling and star gazing is a serious neurological condition that can settle down but every time the bird gets stressed it all starts again. I agree best to have it euthanased by yourself or someone else.

Sadly not curable - minor cases can live questionable quality of life - but most are just beyond any true hope.

Re euthanasia and if vet expenses are an issue, you might try putting the afflicted bird into a small paper bag and holding the bag over the exhaust pipe of an idling (petrol) car. Carbon monoxide is painlessly and swiftly lethal. Not nice, but when there are few alternatives, this might assist you.
