Normal Javas

Just for anyone who is interested I was just at Enfield Produce in Sydney and was surprised to see normal Java Sparrows there for sale. Haven't seen normals in a while. They were all good looking birds and none had white under the bill. I nearly weakened but the problem with sexing and the fact that most iof my gouldians have eggs/tiny chicks I erred on the side of caution. $20 each seemed quite reasonable to me. If anyone is interested they are there ATM . They had in excess of 20 birds.

Don't think that there is many around now that don't have any mutation in them. The thing is are they split fawn although in my opinion fawn is a nice bird.

Craig.
You may be right in that respect as I have often seen fawns at this location but seeing normals was a bit unusual. On chatting with the manager he said the breeder had supplied him with over 40 and said that he had the same amount that he needed to move on. Maybe they are the splits that he breeds.

I like all Javas. But I know what you mean about finding normals being rare.
When I last had them got a normal hen and a very nice obvious male normal. Wrong. 1 tiny White feather under the cocks bill.
They breed many very beautiful heavy pied chicks and some light pieds too.
