For the first time in 6 months, I noticed one of my Gouldian hens going in and out of nest boxes. Is this a good sign that she might be looking to breed soon or is she just snooping around?

normally the male goes first then calls/attracts the hen to have a look after.
only a couple of months until gouldians are due to moult so if she is going to breed would need to be soon

if they are moulting it shouldnt be long until it appears as though you have an aviary full of flying echidna's

In my experience unless Gouldians are thinking of breeding they dont snoop. I think of them as lazy eaters and sleepers, who after a while think hmmmm yeah may as well give this whole nest, egg, baby thing a go! Then they dont stop....
Good luck with them!
