i had to buy this cock bird in order to buy a rh/pb/sfy hen, and i wanted to know if it was sfy or dfy. cause it has the white chest his back is yellow.

i have a feeling he is sfy, but would like others to confirm if this is right or not??





sorry bout the pic quality, had to take it with my phone cause i cant find the cables to connect the camera to the computer!

i think he is sfy cause of the blue band is ment to be more present in sfy, where as the dfy is white ( I THINK? )

SFY mate, double factor wont usually have that much blue around his mask and bib and DF tends to have a stronger yellow back.

To expand on my reasoning, I've two links to images that show the supposed visual indicators of the 2 variations.

This is a SF, note the blue/grey around the mask and bib.

This is a DF, note the clean white where the blue/grey exists on a SF.

I would agree too, those links to the pics show the difference very clearly. The DF looks very clean and crisp, where the SF looks softer.

I try.. wait until you see the information I'm getting ready to upload on my website that will really help ID'ing Pastels and SF YellowBlues (Visually Silver SF Yellow Males) at hatching..
