What do you think of my new aviary !

Nah just joshin ya ....oh how I wish this was mine . Its a public aviary in Cooks Park Orange NSW.
It has 2 hexagonal aviaries on either side , one with native doves the other with native finches and Scarlet Chesteds and the centre aviary is large parrots , corellas ,galahs and cockies.

Unfortuneatly it was bloody hot and the smaller birds stayed to the back of the aviaries so no good pics of them ut there are a couple of the big fellas.

oops pics of the corella digging an escape tunnel didnt work out ....bugger.

Now that would be a nice Aviary in your back-yard
My friends lived in Orange for a number of years, very, very cold in Winter

I wonder how the birds would go in such cold weather? I imagine that would just get used to it?

Thought you have won the lottery for a minute there
Wouldnt it be nice to have the space/money for an aviary as big as that......sigh....

Collective sigh, as we all dream of winning Lotto, and buying the block over the back and putting that on it.

yeah Orange gets very cold in winter , snows there most years . The aviaries all had quite a large enclosed area at the rear , couldnt see what the set up was back there but it was certainly well protected and I wouldnt be surprised if some sort of heating was in place .

Do you know what sort of wire they used?

It was weldmesh in a single layer for the parrot cages and the finch cages were made of 2 layers together so that the wire met halfway into each square making the holes smaller.
