What age for rings

Up until this year I havent bothered putting leg rings on my birds, but have decided to put rings on my young gouldians this year.
I have purchased some split plastic rings from ebay (1,000 rings, probably a bit optimistic but I cant resist a bargain)
I have heard different ages to start putting rings on the young and was wondering if anyone here would be able advise at what age they start putting rings on their young gouldians.

Cheers
Framed.

I have been waiting until they fledge, I was lucky last year no two nests fledged at the same time. Bonus is they are easy to catch too.

I bought those E-Bay rings as well, hey they don't go off and optimism is good for the soul.
Also ring when they fledge.

all i do is ring the adult birds , because if you you have a good year it could cost u a small fortune on leg rings( i know they dont cost that much in bulk)but if i am intending on keeping young birds for myself to make up unrelated pairs i will tag all the young a differnt colour to identify there parents. so pretty much as they have fledged.......pete.

I ring mine when I move them from thier parents,at approximatly 4 weeks after fledging.Or at any time before they fully colour up.
