Well been a long time getting pics but ahwell. U guys prob thought i was B@ll S@#$ing hehehe.

Hey the bizzare thing has been that my redbrows kept feeding my baby gouldians and are still feeding chick number 6 seeing hes the runt of the fledglings!!

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

There looking awesome tho and no probs whatsoever. Also the gouldians are nesting again.

Also ive discovered 5 baby painteds in the tea tree!!! Im very happy all finaly starting to come together for me now. On the downside tho i lost the painted cockbird which is bizzare so now the hens a single mum but shes doing the job fine. There looking fully feathered also.

The cock bird looked old tho and looked like he had some grey feathers on his head. I guess least he did the deed before he passed on and left 5 in his wake.

Alsoif your wondering why i got the silly seed bell inside its becuz my redbrows tear it to peices hehe.

Guys have u ever had anything weird happen like my redbrows feeding gouldians? I did look at gomers baby redbrow pics and they look awfully like gouldian babys i guess thats the reason but just interested to no.

No have never heard of it before.both have young fledging here.Its a bit harder to catch the redbroweds doing anything here,because they are so timad.
Anyhow good to see you have had some success.Both with the young and photo department.

Thanks gomer! Both gouldian parents are split to whitebreast. So looking forward to seeing what colours i get. And actually figuring out the organisation as to who i keep and swapping cock birds over and such. Exciting stuff. I will try and get a video on my camera of the redbrow feeding the gouldian chick. Or even a photo if i can. Its realy cool to watch my wife and i were realy suprised. They were the last birds i expected to see do such a thing.

You were asking about weird fosterings well this was many years ago but I had diamond doves attempting to feed a begging red-brow fledgling. It seems that persistance pays off as the bird would beg from anything with wings. That was the weirdest but my only other experiences are more conventional in that I've had Gouldians parasitize Star nests on 2-3 occasions in the last 2 years. The stars don't seem to mind even if I do.
