For some reason I have a plague of mozzies in my garage , which I guess is feeding the plague of red backs in there ..... My suspended aviary had a red back web in a corner which I had forgotten about , the finches went in and the web and spider dissappeared ...conclusion , I think the finches finished them off :o mybe thats the only type of live food they will take coz they dont like any other live food I give them . Bad luck finchies I dont like spiders .

Redbacks galore here as well at dads in Mildura. Only ever seen a few in my 37 years but this year every aviary and other nooks and crannies. Do i need a licence to sell Redback Spiders?

We have record numbers of a few critters here this autumn , mozzies , flies of all sizes , spiders , lizards and parrots .
Dunno whats attracting them ?
Ive got shares in stop itch , fly spray and surface spray , cant go anywhere without seeing all manner of lizard , actually rescued a large goanna last week that had been hit by a car and the bloody corellas and cockies have chewed branches of every tree in the main street , after dinner fishing outings now include panadol coz the sound of baby galahs , corellas and cockies along the river bank is deafening ...I swear every tree is chockers .
Even the local paper has made mention of the large number of parrots in Dubbo.

Red backs don;t seem to be too bad this year, think they got fried to death in the heat. :D
Unfortunately the mice are starting to be a problem again, after a couple of years of respite. :(
And the correllas in town are iritating the bejesus out of the local council, schools and golf clubs, with the mess they are making all over the place with their "pruning".

Few Red Backs about. I really need to sort out and clean up the shed, but for that reason it aint a proirity. Never seen Mozzies so bad here as i have this year. They dont usually like my blood for some reason, but lately, they are chasing me inside.

Haven't seen many redbacks, but we have had a run of black and white tip spiders in the house over the last 4months. They just seem to popping up every week. With 4 young children, we aren't exactly happy about it :x

I was talking with a bloke and he had 4 young and two adult gouldians all dead in the nest box. He emptied it out and found a redback in there  I felt pretty sorry for him, what a shocker

I'm in the south of Adelaide and lats spring was the pretty bad. I have two young kids and have trying to eradicate the red back from my back yard for 7 years now. Starting to get on top of it . I go out and spray them at nigh, as they all come out at night and are easy to see.
