Do many of the members own this DVD or have seen it?

Is it worth the $40?

Also any other finch DVDs out there worth buying?

It does go on a bit & a bit etc.But the part about soaked seed is in my opinion is very interesting & definitely the best way to prepare sprouted seed.

I would agree the soaked seed bit is all i liked.

There is another by Peter O'derkerkin sold by ABK but its much the same the only good section is the propogation of Maggots by Gary Fitt.

I have the Birdkeeping the South African Way I,II & III. There not bad.

The best movies i saw were about 15 years old Around the Aviaries they were AU breeders showing there setups and collections. Not Greatly filmed and on VHS but excellent content, hopefully something like these can be reproduced. I would happily pay 50 for these old movies on DVD.

Please delete this post if i have bagged to many film makers here, i just wasnt satisfied.

Cheers
Luke

Sorry, not worth $40.
Might be passionate about his birds but that certainly doesn't
come out in his droning dialogue.
As with others, soaked seed info good.
Anything I say. What a wonderful philosophy you have.

Hi Everyone,

I wasn't going to mention anything untiol I had something to look at ...

But a mate and I are working on a finch DVD as we speak.
Most of the filming is done "we" are just waiting for "me" to do the editing and get it up on our website:
http://www.AvicultureProductions.com

Our first title will be detailed instructions on how to breed maggots and meal worms and how to collect and store white ants.
I'm hoping to have a preview available on the website in the next few weeks - I'll post more details then.

Future titles will be based on feedback from the first one ;)

Sounds Great and look forward to it.

Put me down for a Copy.

Might be worth running a post in the Finch Lounge asking people what they like to see and what there current dislikes with movies to date are.

Might also find people here prepared to showcase there aviaries.

Hi Luke,

Thanks for the positive response.
We will eventually do everything you suggest - uur first priority is to get the first DVD done so we can get specific feedback.

Will post a link when I get the preview done and uploaded to the website.

Thanks for the responses guys. Looks like i'm better off saving my $40 and just reading how to sprout seed off the birdsrus website.

I'm with Luke about trying to get people to showcase their aviaries as I know everyone loves seeing other peoples setups.
I'm sure most finch societies would have enough members with a wealth of knowledge, impressive setups, hints & tips
and collections of different species to create a worthwhile DVD (for us and for the treasurer).
