Which way do most of you guys go with Breeding? Single pair per aviary with other finches or Colony?
Just quickly from the Tri Coloured topic, i had all 3 pairs together last week took 1 pair out they are sitting on 5 eggs and the other 2 pairs took out and seperated on saturday and sunday 1 has built a nest and today the other pair has built a nest.
What is everyones thoughts on this Luck or Timing or Better?

I mostly breed single pairs in a mixed avairy. But the Gouldians are in groups of 6 and 3. Bengos in a seperate avairy for now.
Am considering doing some pair to a breeding cage with some, to get specific colours/markings.
Think you must have kissed the blarney stone to have that kind of luck and done some very good management as well. :D

Im hedging my bets with the gouldians. I have three pair each with their own flight. An aviary with two pairs in together, and three pair in the community aviary.
Parrot finches (blue and red pairs) I have kept separate.
Only have one pair of emblemas and one pair OBs in community aviary.
Two pair of ruddies in community aviary, but I have noticed the males rolling/flying around fighting a bit.
