can you put a 50 cm high sheet of poly plastic or colourbond steel or something around the bottom of all the sides of your aviary?

So sorry to hear. Fingers crossed re the Gouldians and Zebs. Some people don;t like quail in the avairy but I have found that some quail will actually charge mice and shoo them.

That's heart breaking news. Gouldians aren't usually fussed by inspections or activity so I'd get out the caulking gun and silicon up any gap larger than 6mm that you can find. This method seems to work for snakes but mice may chew through it - there may be a better product at the local hardware you can try. If they are burrowing in then you can try laying mesh under the soil or lay pavers or concrete it.

Reading this post brings back bad memories. I lost everything to rats! Easiest way to vermin proof is to lay your cage on its side and wire the bottom with Anti Mice and Snake wire. Then put some about a foot up the sides also for thoses more cunning shits. You can purchase it in rolls at bunnings for around $45 a roll so its not cheap or stratco has it out for you to choose how much you need. Hope you overcome your problem.....
