My pure normal gouldians second nest of 5 are just fledging however one of the babies is much smaller than the other 4. It hardly even has its eyes open and 2 of the other babies were out this morning.

Is there anyhting I can do for the chick?

Can you see the crop? Is it full?

You could try and hand feed it but its not looking too good if its that far behind the others, but at least you know you tried to help.
:? Ive never hand fed a chick myself so I dont know much about it other than what I have read and seen in youtube videos.
Hopefully these will help if you decide to try it. Best of luck and let us know how the chick gets on.

Thanks for all your help Diane.
He was looking much better today, 2 of the gouldians were out again and 3 were still inside. Today however he had his eyes open and his crop was full.

A nest of 4 painteds started hatching today as well :D

So hard to get them to hand feed but sometimes its worth a try .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.
