Well nearly.
Prepare yourselves for a story.

Bought a BH WC gouldian cock (Name of Paddy...but thats another story  )
Bought him his BH WC hen name of Colleen
When they were introduced Paddy must have been overcome with love and forgot his manners, very little singing or dancing to her, just jumped on and did the job within five minutes of meeting her, or so I thought!
Weeks pass, and still no eggs, and the hen with a beak as black as the Ace of Spades!
Paddy is keen, calling to her from the nest, she totally ignoring him.
I took Paddy aside and explained the finer details of courting behaviour, still no luck. The only thing they were doing together was feeding.
At my wits end with this I decided today while cleaning out the cage to move the nest box to a totally different place and turn it around facing a different way. Paddy jumps in, and starts calling to her and after a little hesitation she follows him, not for long though. Im happy for now as this is a big step forward for this pair.
Days of our Lives will continue if anything more exciting happens.

Well I have been in and out the shed several times today and Colleen has only been seen once, sitting next to Paddy, now thats a different attitude too. Normally she fends him off with open beak and lunging at him. So she really likes the new position of the nest, it seems to have changed her attitude completely.

I dont normally name the birds, but there have been a few exceptions,
Fidget the seagreen PF..... just being a PF explains the name, she cant sit still.
For those who want the story of how Paddy got his name
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=3462&hilit=+paddy+irish
and as Colleen is his mate that explains how she got her name (colleen is Irish for girl)
