Well i have had problems with a neighbor about my birds and as i am renting he has complained to the real estate and now i have been told to cut back half of my hobby. The complaint was that they might attract mice, I have to cut back some of my finches and find this to be a hard decision. As the saying goes you can choose your friends but you carn't choose your arshole neighbor.

That sucks mate I hate neighbours that are like that. By the way if you not having mice problems at the moment don't worry about it. When they do come do something then.

Sorry to here that Greg.I hate how people think if you have birds you automaticly have a plague of mice aswell.A couple of hundred finches would make less noise then most parrots.

They don't seem to have anything better to do then stick there nose in other peoples buisness, don't worry i have a pay back idea thaqt instead of putting the dog poo in the bin it might find its way into there letter box

that sucks big time bud, bloody assholes..
its been a real good breeding season for the mice, its been on the radio, so theres bound to be more about, i keep baits in and around my cages all the time, been seeing heaps of dead ones around.

I have only seen the odd one or two but have baits out to be sure

I have seen one or two mice in my aviary, but wasnt sure about baits, how should I do this without harming my birds?

you can Make or Buy a recepticle.designed to keep the bait in the middle. birds away from the bait.The entry point should only be big enough for a mouse.My old ones were made out of icecream containers.

if you dont want to use baits you could also use the KETCH-IT-ALLS. i use them and they seem to be pretty good. but make sure u put either 2 strandes of stiff wire over the 2 holes. or some 25x12 bird wire other wise finches will get stuck. they dont actually kill the mice all u have to do is put the whole trap in a bucket of water and drowns them. i prefer to use the traps to poison cause me dog will eat the dead mice, then will kill her.
