Bottle brush won't hurt them a lot of breeders put in cages for birds to nest in.As far as eating,flowers have nectar more suited to nectar eating birds.

bottle brush flowers usually host black ants which in turn house tapeworm becuz black ants carrie tape worm if your bird eats the ants it gets the worm. Keep it out of there only use it for brush but with out the flowers.
