Looking forward to seeing these as I had an almost white faced cuban hen at one time (see avatar) ((not the best pic but that is her)) and couldn't find anything on cuban mutations.

Sorry, finally got the pics up, thesewere taken at Ace Colony.

You may also notice the Pekin Robins in the Background, there was about 13 of them there which is the most i have ever seen in te 1 place as well as a Pair of Magpie robins which are just as impressive.

Sorry back to the Cubans, i have never seen these before in AU.

interesting though.

They are surprisingly pretty. But due to a complete change of colours, I would think they are dilutes not pieds. Just my opinion. What do others think? (I want, I want, I want )

A mate of mine, some years ago had a cockbird that was a pied which was about 50/50 . . plenty of white, but back in those days inheritance patterns were not understood by most. Plenty of young were produced, and bred together but no further colour was produced

The bird in the first pic on the right seems to have some black remaining on tne head which says to me that the birds are advanced pieds

Ask Rob at Ace Colony what the inheritance pattern for these birds is . .

Also what is the price . .

The fact that they are on sale to the general public (who may or may not know about establishing or continuing a mutation) seems to indicate that the mutation is secure in at least a few aviaries, as the original breeder/s would not be risking the loss of this feather variety . .

Also in the commercial sense he/they would want to be the main producers of the mutation while the price remains at the high level . . and are probably already at the stage of mating colour to colour (after outcrossing) . . And half his luck as the establishment of a new mutation is a combination of skill, hard work, good luck, and heart-ache

im not 100% sure but i think a mate of mine has said around the $2000 mark for pied cubans and the same for i think he said pied jacarinies, same mate also has got some very nice pied diamond firetails very nice they are
