Dunno what is going on here but every time I try to post it logs me out ? Anyway, made a trip to Toowoomba on the weekend and bought some zebs. 4 pair for $40. 1 pied, 1 normal, 1 white, and one charcoal. Seem to be enjoying the warmer climate here, but I have noticed that the whole 8 birds sleep in a cane nest basket never seen that before ?

Zebs and Bengos will do this. Or if there are more nests. Will, as they sort out their relationships, spread out into the other nests in pairs.

Well got home from work today and found a natural coloured zeb sitting on top of my aviary today. I thought well they have attracted some wild ones. I counted mine and found that I was one short. So how to get it back in the aviary before the magpies or hawks get it ? I ended up pulling the bottom off of a small cage and propping it up on a block of wood with fishing line tied to it, like we used to do when we were kids. Had her within 10 minutes, got me buggered where she got out though, we went all over the cage and couldn't find a hole. Home now anyway, lol.

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Can you or anyone with charcoal zebs post pic as I have been working on getting them as black as I can, am getting there but the only ones I can compare with are at bird sales and pet shops and they are usually culls.

I like the fawn version. Where the idea is to get it as brown as possible. Unfortunately the first 3 chicks are all visually normal cocks. Now I just have to wait and see how the next 3 colour up. If they don't show any colour he is getting a new mate.
