Full specrum UV fluro globes

Was wondering if any one could help me out with some info regarding what full spectrum UV fluro would be suitable to use in a bird room. Cheers

i remeber reading somethen bout lights in our local finch society magazine. but cant remembe. mayeb poitta could help think it was in the feb issue . if not ill have a look at work on thursday and comment back here if its the one your after.
not sure if it was about the lighting you want but it was saying that it was as effective as it should be or something. but ill try and have a look oin thursday.

That would be good chris, they use full spectrum uv for reptiles & fish but from what i can gather there not suitable for birds,struggling to get the right information.
Your help would be appreciated.

think its because the birds can process the light better or something and to the birds it flickers set at the normal things but will look at work on thursday for you

depends on what you want to use it for..there are fluro lights from arcadia that are at most bird or pet shops (but are kinda expensive) but if its only for short term useage in a bird room the normal white lights should be fine as i said for short periods and a vitam d supllemnt like codliver oil could be put in there seed but be careful as a good thing can be bad,u can over dose on vit d this way so be careful.....pete

hey pete the arcadia bird lamps are no good unless the bird sit within 200mm from it then it would need no to sit there for at least 6hours or so so there no good. i was able to find the article at work but i am unsure on how to post it here. i have scanned it and saved it so if you want to see it just give me your email and ill email it to you

it the feb 09 issue with the blood on the front name is Lighting, some facts and figures from an unsuspecting victim pages 11-13
