Im having a problem with some wild birds of late.
My Gouldies and zebbies are currently living in a decent size cage at the moment till i can afford to buy a proper walk in aviary.
Problem is they have been getting visits from wild birds that are either minors or butcher birds and it has cost the life of 2 of my gouldies. Both were female with puncture wounds, 1 in the higher chest and then today in the lower chest.

Is there something besides keeping them inside that i can do to stop these bloody wild birds from landing on the cage and picking my finches off. I only have 1 male gouldie left and the rest are zebbies.

Do these wild birds have an expensive taste as well as sexist by choosing the most expensive females in my cage?

A pellet gun sounds good but is not exactly legal   Any suggestions to help keep these bids away would be great.

what size cage. another good idea is not have perches touching the wire so they dont get to close to the side or if you have to a square of perpex on the side where perch meets wire to give them added protection.....pete
