Are those the ones that have the steel tube and a ball bearing inside?
If you do go for those I would suggest putting the normal drinkers out as well for a while so that the slow learners have time to adapt.
flippenheck has made some waterers using Jim Beam bottles with coke lids, try sending him a pm for more detailed instructions
Might not be so hard on the hip pocket either......hmmm you would have to buy the JB first of course and drink it while considering where to locate the drinkers!

I have seen smaller versions especially for birds on the net, but this also means the amount of water is smaller.

We made our own and we used the single holed plastic salt shaker head and screwed it onto a bottle.
It will work fine but it must be verticle with a perch or good access under.
The birds soon learn to go up and put their beak to the drop and it will continue to run while they drink.
In summer we use them as emergency back up watering points.

bottles are easy to find, any pub or even coles & woollies have areas full of the good stuff, just make sure to rinse well after drinking the contents

What with wearing net curtains and tablecloths when getting birds out of cages, grass gathering, weed encouraging, the last thing I need it to be spotted hanging around the back of the local pub or dumpster diving by the locals, my name wouldnt just be mud...it would be slush!

HAHAHA thx guys! Sounds like a plan buzz...pity they dont have srew top beer bottles hehe. Has anyone got any detailed plans on the basic way of making these bottles? I looked at the rabbit ones with the ball bearing at the end and realy dont know whether they would figure those out.
