i know EVERYONE thinks their birds are amazing, but mine are better
was just outside checking on my little grassfinch thats the first to fledge of its nest. fully feathered, brilliant flying strength as soon as it left the nest (i saw its maiden flight!!) and healthy as can be. in the aviary i have 3 pairs of masked grassfinches, as well as 1 fully coloured young bird and 2 partially coloured young from previous nests that i havent been able to catch yet. i often see all of these partaking in some alopreening in the sun with their parents and the other birds, but have just witnessed the most amazing thing... the 2 partially coloured young were snuggled on either side of my new fledgling on the highest perch in the aviary, when it started to beg for some lunch when dad came close. but instead of dad feeding it, one of its older siblings from the previous nest did!! AND THEN THE ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE DID!!
my birds entertain me to no end.
about to get the camera out and see if i can get a pic...
