Fire Finch Question

A week ago I saw my sole male Cordon coming out of a nest that had been made in the tea-tree. I was a bit surprised, as I have no hen for the Cordon.

I thought I would take a peak and to my surprise there were two young in the nest. They looked like Fire finches, but I wasn't sure :?:

On the weekend out came two young fires and the parents as well as the Cordon were helping :) :) I was pretty surprised to see the Cordon help out this way.

This morning just before going to work I went to see if all was well and nearly fell over when I found three young Fires flying around the aviary :D I wasn't expecting the third.

Two of the Fire finches have basically no tail feathers. Is this common and will they grow once they moult or mature :?:

Not uncommon for any young birds, finches in particular, to come out with no tail, even happens with the Lorries occasionally.
