New zebra finch hen

I've decided to swap out my gray zebra finch hen for a white one. I've never had a white clutch and would like to have one. She is gorgeous and as soon as I put her in the cage with him he got so happy. They made a quick bond and are displaying it by preening each other every so often which is something I've never seen my birds do.

I'm expecting to see eggs within the next two weeks or sooner.

Wish me luck.

I've been told it's a Penguin Zebra Finch.

Thanks. I'm really excited to see what color offspring they produce, I know they will be white but I guess what I really mean is the variations.

Why doesn't your aviary allow it?

So you don't have any Zebra's at all. You have an amazing aviary by the way.

I got these results, and I am bummed that there is a chance the babies can be gray.

50.0% Females >> Gray / Penguin ( Genotype >> Z , W ; pi+,pi )
50.0% Males >> Gray / Penguin , CFW ( Genotype >> Z bc+ , Z bc ; pi+,pi )

My aviary isn't up here... which one were you looking at?
Nope, no zebbies at all. Some others though, like cordons & waxbills
Don't be annoyed, gray babies are just as nice. You are sure to get some whites and some penguins as well too, so a bigger mix is a better thing! ;)

Unless you know exactly what is in the genetic makeup behind the birds you have you still could get a surprise.
Keep trialling with the forecaster to see what colour pairs would need to be put together to get the white and the penguin and you will see what colours could spring up.
