Eastern whip birds

Hi hopefully gary or eorix can maybe answer thise one for me or any other people reading this. Later on in life when i have the space does anyone no the availability of keeping these guys? Does anyone here keep them?

I know i will need a higher class license then what ive already got but just wondering?

Unfortunately, here in WA (to my knowledge at least) we are not allowed the Eastern Whipbirds. I believe that the Gorge Wildlife Park does have them. I need to dig out Vic's number and will PM it to you. He is one of the bird curators from there and would have far more knowledge on them than I could offer.

Vic would be a good person to make contact with,not just for what he has access to but there is a good Softbill group in SA.
There is also a Softbill group in Sydney and they would assist.
Whipbirds haven't been a high priority but they are a nice bird and something very different
To access most of that type of bird you need a good contact as they need to work together for on going success

Very nice birds, some people in NSW, VIC and SA have them :)
Try Mark Shepard's book 'Aviculture in Australia', I think it's sill in the library, though owning it is better :lol:
