Got onto some whey powder, out of date,Looking at 25kg bags @ around $12 each normally $175 each.80 % milk protien, and have to buy about 150 kgs at a time.
So my question is has or does anyone use it ? is it good to use ? Do you use less then milk powder? Does anyone want some ? And does it keep the same as milk powder as if i get 150 kgs or more it will be in storage for a few years? :cloppy: :cloppy: :cloppy:

Most definitely YES
I feel it mixes better and you will breed flies in it.
My son gets me Powdered Milk and whey powder and I can't see any difference in the amount of flies bred in it.

The difference is not how many flies it breeds; it is the nutritional value that makes the difference! Maggots fed on whey powder are far more nutritional for your birds than maggots raised on bran...

I use chinese take away containers to start my maggots off. And was using a heaped soup spoon of powdered milk with bran making up the rest.Would I use the same amount of whey with the bran to make up the mix.As I have heard it gets hot ??? Or would I use more ?I have started putting a few heaped tablespoons of whey in with the pollard (approx in two litres) that I clean them out in aswell.Do people use the whey powder this way aswell.

Out of interest would the whey powder be of benefit if added to the mealworm breeding container?
