rainbow lorrikets?

can you help me with rainbow lorrikets and how can i tell them by sex?

males sometimes have a larger beak, and often are a bit bigger, but as this is obviously not particularly reliable DNA or surgical sexing is necessary...
other than that, what did you want to know? I assume you know about the diet and such sine you said you said you have some.

Hi,

Get them DNA (blood or feather) or surgically sexed.
There are lots of signs which may indicate cock or hen but of all the top rainbow breeders I know they all get them sexed.
Everyone who tries to do it any other way will get caught out and end up wasting time and effort.

It's true cocks tend to have larger beaks and heads - hens seem to jump around more - etc etc - but this is just an indication - it is by no needs acurate.

I bought my first "breeding pair" of rainbows (ok from a petshop) and had them for about 5 years - they used to mate quite often - all good I thought!

Yep - 2 cocks!

There is no reason not to get rainbows sexed!

Unless you have a fertilised egg! 8-)
