Hi, this is a photo that a mate of mine took on his property, eagles would be my favorite bird, he has given me permission to use it as my
Avatar if I can work out how to change it. Hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
Cheers Greg.

Awesome ...I feel privileged to say Ive been up close to one and I swear it was as tall as the car ....it was eating roadkill and I slowed down to have a look , to my surprise it lingered a while ...near bought tears to my eyes being so close to something so majestic/
My father has photos of one on his Uncles arm wings stretched out leather gear on its face and legs .... is unreal the size of these things

I will agree with you Deb, we saw one on a trip from Queensland to Adelaide and when it took off its wingspan was as wide as the car.jusdeb wrote: feel privileged to say Ive been up close to one and I swear it was as tall as the car

they may be huge, but they sure are cowards
you may not believe me but I saw a big one once being chased out of the breeding territory of a male fairy wren, by the wren himself... hyperactive little bugger, must have had a quick swig of red cordial before he started. eagle looked terrified of the tiny thing buzzing around his head and tail.

Saw quite a few on the roads between Exmouth and Carnarvon last time we came back down that road. They were doing very well out of the roadkill. Stupid tourists don't know better than to keep going flat out just cause it;s a nice straight wide road. So the cars and roos play chicken and lots of both lose. And many of those stupid tourists are Aussies too.
They are a magnificent bird, but because of their size are slow to lift off and that can cause accidents with cars driven by idiots who do not slow down. Some twit in a nice new 4 wheel drive (from Perth I must confess) was wingeing that the stupid eagle had not got out of the way. Yes the bonnett was dented and had the marks of the eagles talons.

This makes me so angry. Had I been there I would have really given the twit something to winge about!finchbreeder wrote: Some twit in a nice new 4 wheel drive (from Perth I must confess) was wingeing that the stupid eagle had not got out of the way.
