Hi All,
Just introducing myself, my name is Andrew and I live in NE Melbourne area, I have been a finch lover all my life.
For as long as I can remember we have had birds ranging from Australian Finches, Foreign Finches, Australian Neophemas and Foreign Parrots.
My Dad was one of the founding people of the Victorian Finch and cage bird society. We had quite an impressive collection and champion finches which would regularly clean up at shows. I once won champion bird in show at the Royal Melbourne Show (back when they had cage birds)
Me and my Dad had a collection well over 200 birds, but in the early 2000's when I was more interested in the birds of the unfeathered kind we sold our whole collection.
My uncle took over some of our Zebras as we had a fine collection of black fronts at the time, now that I have settled in life I have recently purchased a smallish avery 9ft Lx 5ft Wx 6ftH which will be delivered some time next week. I am inheriting a few pairs of Zebras from my uncles collection and I'm looking to get a pair of the following Diamond Firetails, Orange Faced Stars, Cordon Bleus and maybe Double Bars.
Looking forward to getting back into bird keeping and re learning all the little tricks that I have forgotten over the years.
Will post picks of my avery when I get it and look forward to chatting to you all.
Thanks
Andrew
