Pied St Helenas

Does anyone know the inheritence of the pied gene in st helenas? I have a light pied yellow cock that has just fledged a clutch and wouldn't mind producing a few more pieds and developing them into a heavier pied.

I was just looking through my pics form our big walk-through aviary here in canberra, and noticed a weird looking saint :D .
It was very pale, almos creamy brown, and was splotched by darker brown all over. The eye - stripe was unaffected.
It's a horribly bad pic so won't post it here

i once had a normal saint showing minor pied markings in his flight feathers 2 on each wing nd some white single feathers in his back nd belly but unfortunatly passed him onto a mate off mine to give him a chance to breed them but no sorry dont no the inheritance of the pied in them but i presume the same as all other pied mutaions

If in doubt, like Chris said assume it is non sex linked recessive and put dad back to the best marked pied daughter. While outcrossing any other pied offspring.

Doesn't appear at this stage to be any offspring showing pied markings. Counted them up the other day and there are no fewer than 7 and I actually have a hunch there may be eight! At least I'll have plenty of splits to play with.

Definately need to put back to a daughter to draw out the gene then. Glad to hear he is nice and fertile.
