LOL can only vouch for Eorix being in "Africa" lol SA and not the deep Africa. He's flew back to Aust. recently if I am not mistaken. Was great to meet such a caring and encouraging person.

Monotwine, Yes E Orix is a wealth of info on birds. I have picked his brains for finch info and personal contacts in the finch world over the years. I am going down to his home in the next month, obviously to see his collection and ask a ton of questions concerning his Africa trip/safari.

Hello all; yes I arrived back yesterday.I guess physically but not mentally.
It's a long way from home to South Africa.
It was a great tour, meeting Monique and her husband Garth plus other Sth African bird keepers.
Also spent quite some time with the Rare Finch Conservation Group.
Then travelled with 3 top U.K. breeders thru Kruger etc.
Saw many of my beloved Weavers and Whydahs plus the big 5 animals as well as many others.
I only wish I could have had a big suitcase and been allowed to bring some avian samples back.
Oh well you can dream.
Now once Xmas is finished it will be getting ready for the Queensland Convention.
By the way THANK YOU Monique for showing me around Cape Town and down to the Cape,
Travel is so much easier when travelling with a local.
As for pictures yes I have some but I will need to battle once again to get them onto the site.
