 Oh no what a shame, your poor wife must feel worse that you do.
Only one thing to cure that, while you are on holiday in Qld see if you can source some new stock.

That's terrible news. Dare I ask what was the cause of death?

Just got another call now lost a total of 11 birds  not sure what is going on??? Yes it's very unfortunate for my wife she is quite upset. Guessing some sort of diesease or the like has taken to the aviary maybe to have such a big loss in a day??

It always happens while you are away. You have to cop it on the chin. Earlier in the year i was away with work and got the call, YOUR PASTEL GOULDIAN IS DEAD. Just great. But you move on. The ups and downs of Finches. I reckon my let downs out number the ups at the moment.
No good anyway to loose any bird.
The question is will you replace them?

Now 12. If I lose the lot then I will have to Have a look at my set up and see what has gone wrong. Sounds like the wife has missed a couple of days of feed and then thrown in a box full of spray millet not sure if that has contributed to the big loss. Quails have not been bothered. She has gone to the local pet store and they have told her to worm them first thing tomorrow with a mixture for there water

Twelve is a bad loss in anyone's books I feel for you. It would not be worms to loose that amount in a short time In this fine weather,Assuming that is a reasonable percentage of what you have. If they as you said maybe ran out of seed and had worms not good.Rats perhaps ? poison ? Disease ? Ran out of water ?

Sorry to hear the news, hopefully you find the cause of the problem so this doesn't happen for you again.
My thoughts is a disease got into your aviary rather than worms.
