Bizarre Tri Nun

I have a single hen quail which I have to keep as it was my daughters first bird. Anyway, for the last 4-5 weeks she has been sitting on her eggs, that of course wont hatch. For the last week or so I have noticed a Tri Nun spending time around her nest. Originally I thought he was stealing nesting meterial from her nest, but have realised in the last few days he is actually taking turns incubating her eggs! Every time she leaves the nest, he flies down and takes over. I even caught him preening her when she returned to the nest today. Anyone else have any strange pairings like this?
