ok well for the last few months i was sayen that i had possibly had a pied gouldian but i am really doubting it now more leaning towards the SPlit australian yellow now and am wanting peoples feed back. the bird was bred by my uncle who only breeds normals for the last 5yrs or so now with gouldians and hes been breeding his own line and in the 2010 season this young bird popped up and was showing the pure white flight feathers on its wings nd the rest off the body looked like a normal green backed gouldian. by now im guessen ur wanting to see pictures soo here they are
can easily see the white flight feathers
Image

can also see the whit bib like split aust yellows nd also the yellow splotches on the back of the neck
Image

the normally light blue ring around the mask of the bird is a purple colour so is the rump is the same sort of purple colour aswell and the purple breast is a off colour as well soo its really stumped me wat are your opinions on this bird

thanks chris

Certainly different looking. My GEUSS would be a well coloured Aus Yellow split. This is one I breed last season.

It doesn't look unlike the photo of the pied bird in the new kingston book, except for the tail feathers in the kingston book are normal.

However, it doesn't look unlike some of the birds from this site. http://users.skynet.be/fa398872/engoulm04.htm

Others with more experience in Aus yellows may be able to comment of faded breast and the change in blue neck ring

Yes, I breed a few aus yellows. I would assume he is a split but he certainly is more exagerated than any of my splits. If he was black head, I reckon his head would be almost entirely white. I would be mating him to a yellow hen for confirmation. I bought my first pair of yellows off Southy who pops on here from time to time. He would probably have a more educated opinion than me on this one.

the patchy chest may be a seperate issue to the white chin and yellow nape of the neck.

the chin/nape colouring definitely LOOKS split Oz Yellow, the patchy chest might be something else...some genetically white breats I think (almost) carry the purple gene and can do this...I had a male I bought from a breeder with a similar chest - moulted out once while I had him in the same way..failed to breed though in 2 years so unable to compare him to any relatives.
