Well after have only one gouldian last year 2010
I extened the cage and planted it....... and have feed them the best stuff, wormed the sprouted seed daily, egg shell daily. Feash water on demand for them. Gave them a new seed hopper and made the aviary dry and clean and best of all mouse proof
see the aviary section for my post there
I now have just over 25 new babies !!!!! plus 12 unhatched eggs in 2 more nests
Cannot get over it
I have 7 pairs and there working over time here

That’s great news ! Just goes to show all us “fussy”, over-caring breeders know what we are talking about! Lol And I am very happy you have seen the light and had such great success!!

Last year was pretty good for me, got 20 chicks from 3 pairs in a real small avairy. Built a bigger one with three separate flights. Currently have one pair sitting on eggs in a revamped painteds nest but found two chicks dead in a nest box yesterday and a chick on the ground that I am attempting to hand raise. I think that I had an ant attack or the heat here yesterday (42C) may have killed them as the box is in the top closed in section and was really hot when I got in there for the rescue. Hope your year is good.
