A very hardy bird, they are suitable for bird keepers from those just starting in the hobby (addiction) right up to the
most experienced breeders.
A great bird to keep in a mixed aviary, remember though that they can breed with the red eared firetail and the
beautiful firetail.

Sex:
Emblemas are sexually dimorphic (Cocks & Hens usually being very easy to distinguish).
The colour (red or yellow) of the cock bird is much brighter on the face, belly & rump.
The hen has more white spots than the cock.
On the hen these spots go across the breast region.
Overall the hens colouring is duller than that of the cock bird.
